Singapore Trip Pt. 1
Coffee, cafes, and where we ate. Basically, a food post.
It was my first flight out of the country since the 2020 and I was both anxious and excited! The thought of cafes and food hopping beat out good old anxiety though. Hah.

Day 1 - Orchard Day
After arriving at midnight, we wanted a chill first day around Orchard. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Orchard which is super conveniently located near Paragon Shopping Center, and for us to rest whenever we got tired from walking around Orchard.
First stop: Alchemist Coffee at Design Orchard. It was surprisingly empty when we got there, even if it was a Tuesday morning. After a quick cup, we walked around Orchard for a bit. Most shops seem to open at around 11am so we just headed to Paragon to exchange currencies before heading to Chatterbox for our reservation.
Chatterbox is my mom’s fave restaurant to eat Hainanese chicken rice. We also tried the Lobster Laksa and Coconut Ice Cream. All were so so delicious.
My in-laws wanted to try Arteastiq for high tea. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of the high tea concept but the Lychee Tea they served was nice and refreshing.
After, we went malling through Takashimaya, Wisma Atria and ION. I was super excited to finally visit a Love, Bonito shop after plenty of online orders haha Midway at Wisma though, a friend recommended trying out Fruce for their Durian Avocado shake. And if you like both fruits, you must try this!!! Incredible creamy and filling yet still refreshing.
After a food-filled afternoon, we didn’t think of grabbing dinner but found ourselves at ION’s foodcourt to take out a bit of roasted duck (yummm), just in case we get hungry. Spoiler: we finished it all.
Day 2 - Marina Bay Sands - Chinatown - CBD
We started the day having a quick breakfast at Ya Kun Kaya Toast at the Paragon Food Court. I miss kaya toast. I miss kopi. I could not leave Singapore without having this.
We had a morning photoshoot with Sweet Escape just as a remembrance for our girl’s trip. We decided to go to Gardens by the Bay and opted for the free areas instead of the domes so I can’t comment on the dome attractions. The Gardens truly were a nice break from the fast paced city life, and if you want to recharge, it’s a great place to take a stroll and be surrounded by nature.
After the shoot, we headed to Birds of a Feather, a Szechuan restaurant with over 1,000 reviews on Google. The food was good overall although some dishes were a bit common in western restaurants (but with a Szechuan twist). But our favorite dish there was the Barramundi. It was different in a good way - the fish was perfectly cooked and the rice porridge was so comforting (especially since it was a drizzly morning) with just the right hint of sour from the vinegar. I could’ve eaten just that tbh.
After lunch, we went around Chinatown, checked out some murals, and stumbled across a cute cafe: September Coffee. It was packed when we got there but thankfully we didn’t have to wait long for a table to free up. The drinks we got were so-so but it was a nice space to chill/rest from walking around.
We head back to Marina Bay Sands to check out the shops as my sis-in-laws and mom wanted to check out a couple of the shops. It was supper convenient of the mall to have a storage service so I didn't have to lug around stuff I brought for the shoot. Best of all, it's FREE! You can find it by the Casino entrance.
We rested a bit before heading to dinner. Luckily we managed to grab a reservation last minute at Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck. Yes, duck for the 2nd night in a row. I love duck, so no complaints. It was delicious as we hoped and lived up to its restaurant name, and the wrap was the best. We ordered a few more dishes which were delicious as well. I don't have much else to say because I was also tired and sleepy hahaha but also excited for the next day.
